Von wegen „It just works!“. Hier ist meine aktuelle Highscore-Liste:

  1. Macbook Pro (Mid-2010), Core i7 – „Lion unexpectedly crashes with black screen“ Nach Neuinstallation mit „Macbook Pro Video Update 1.0“ bis jetzt nicht wieder aufgetreten,
  2. Macbook Pro (Mid-2010), Core i7 – „battery is not loading to 100% or after having been loaded, its load is not staying at 100%“
  3. Mac Mini Server (2011), Core i7 – „Lion unexpectedly crashes with kernel panic“ Gerade testweise Neuinstallation. Bis jetzt einmal wieder aufgetreten, nach forciertem Ruhezustand mittels Plex. Ansonsten stabil. [Update 28.01.2012: War wohl nichts. Heute begrüßte mich nach dem Verbinden über ARD der Mini mit dem Crash-Report. Wieder CPU4. Mir reicht’s, jetzt wird ein Support-Case aufgemacht.]
  4. Mac Mini Server (2011), Core i7 – „Lion does not reactivate HDMI output after being waken from Sleep unless you connect via ARD“. Übrigens dasselbe auf MBP 2010.
  5. iPad (2010) – „Wifi sync suddenly stops and iPad cannot be found anymore“. Mit einer neueren Version als iOS 5.0.1 nicht mehr aufgetreten.
  6. iPhone 4S (2011) – „phone calls with headset send garbage (echo, feedback, scrambled) to called person“
  7. iPhone 4S (2011) – „microphone feedback during calls create noises, echos and disturb caller“
  8. iPhone 4S (2011) – „Siri is unusable, esp. when using headset“
  9. iPhone 4S (2011) – „annoying static noise when using the microphone when 3G is on“. Besonders schön in der Visual Voicebox, dieses ständige Piepen nervt zu Tode…
  10. iPhone 4S (2011) – „battery performance is much lower than advertised“
  11. iPhone 4S (2011) – „CPU seems to be overloaded, causing bad mp3/m4a performance including stuttering and sudden stop of playing music at all“. Irgendwie habe ich die Befürchtung, dass Punkte 6-11 zusammenhängen…
  12. iPhone 4S (2011) – „display has a yellow faint“
  13. iPhone 4S (2011) – ‚acoustically announce calls during music will slowly fade out song, but abruptly go back to full volume after the ring is stopped“. Mit neuester iOS-Version fast vollständig OK.
  14. iPhone 4S (2011) – „network connection (esp. DNS resolution) suddenly dies and the device needs to be shutdown and rebooted“ (which is when it is working again, on the same location, same network, …). Seit 5.0, bis heute.
  15. iPhone 4S (2011) – „data network cannot be limited to Edge, thus causing inability to network in some areas, higher than necessary battery use and increase of bandwidth use“. Mit neuester iOS-Version wieder auswählbar.
  16. iPhone 4S (2011) – „Wifi networks that need a hotspot login will open automatically the page in browser, the option is no longer available in the wifi setup“. Will prevent of using a bookmarked login. How safe – the device is protected against me…
  17. iPhone 4S (2011) – „apps crash unexpectedly“
  18. iPhone 4S (2011) – „changing volume when screen is off/lockscreen on will reactivate screen“
  19. TimeCapsule (2010) – „after 13months, starts to die suddenly during operation“. Nach zweistündigem Abstöpseln und Wiederanfahren bisher stabil.
  20. OS X Lion (2011) – „external harddisks get waken up for no apparent reason“. Neben dem ständigen Summen/Brummen des Hochfahrens ist die Wartezeit, bis die Geräte „bereit“ melden nervig (Beachball), warum fragt man sich, auf die Devices wollte man nicht zugreifen… Und für die Lebenserwartung der Platten kann es auch nicht gut sein, immerhin kommen am Tag so um die Hundert Start-/Stop-Zyklen zustande.

Eigentlich ist jeder der Punkte für sich Ausschlußkriterium. Warum man dennoch festklebt? Die Konkurrenz macht’s ja leider nicht besser.
